In fact, Ha Long means “Where the dragon descends into the sea”,
and the bay is said to have been created when a giant dragon thrashed its way
out to sea to halt the intrusion of enemy navies...
One day is plenty
of time to experience Ha
Long Bay and appreciate the
epic grandeur of the area. Out on the water, on a large comfortable Chinese
style junk you’ll float amongst the same grottos that have been capturing the
imaginations of visitors for centuries, and in the floating villages of the
area you’ll catch a glimpse of a totally different way of life.
From Hanoi to
Halong city is about 175 km and it takes more than three hours travel from
Hanoi. We firstly travel on the high way number 1 A and then to high way number
18 reach to Halong city. Once here, we have 2 options to stay in hotels in
Halong city and then take the day boat to visit Halong Bay from 4 to 8 hours or we can stay
overnight on the junk cruise on Halong
Bay for 1 night or 2 nights
on a package trip.
Taking a boat trip
to Halong
Bay is always a wonderful
experience; we will be fascinated by the miracle beauty of the natural world
heritage site. It would be a miss if we travel to Vietnam without visiting Halong Bay.
